The XX Files Podcast – S01E06 – Shadows

In our world, unexplained phenomena are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: the mysterious beings who perpetrate these events, and The FBI Agents who investigate them. These are their stories…

Join Courtney and Alison as they recap S01E06 of the X-Files – “Shadows” – and learn about amazing unsolved mysteries such as canine water sports, how Mulder met Predator, and just how many completely untrue things Alison can get away with saying.

    Hey Alison *wink*

There are no reported deaths from scrunchies. However, this article extols the merits of scrunchies to help domestic animals from being mauled by wild animals.

There is no other Tooms episode. “The episode featured the first of two guest appearances by Doug Hutchison as the mutant serial killer Eugene Victor Tooms, a role he would reprise in “Tooms”. “Squeeze” is the first “monster-of-the-week” episode of The X-Files, a stand-alone plot which is unconnected to the series’ overarching mythology.”

The report rate of women who experience violence or traumatic is hard to track down but it is probably pretty low and probably lower in 1993 when the episode aired.

“It’s not true that babies are born with the ability to swim, though they have reflexes that make it look like they are. A reflex called the bradycardic response makes babies hold their breath and open their eyes when submerged in water, says Jeffrey Wagener, a pediatric pulmonologist in Colorado.”

I think that for Halloween we should have a everyone dress like ghosts ( in sheets) and mess with Alison party.

I love the liberty bell conversation. Was wondering, if there is any hidden meaning. Like the bad guys are selling stuff to the other bad guys (or something like that, I didn’t really get the episode – even after listening to you guys) and Mulder wants to say that liberty is a good thing to have? Or 1013 just wanted us to make familiar with the story of the liberty bell being rung.
